Identity Crisis–Part 2

The saga of who and what I am continues. I love the morning–listening to birds chirp, watching the sun rise, looking out of my window and seeing just a few people going about the business of the day. And yet I sit with my husband’s G4 on my lap, tired as all get out (the origins of that phrase still have me stumped) trying to figure out what’s next in the world of blogging. How far does this have to go? To have no other limits than those that are self-imposed or imposed by the powers that be–like family (my mother would scream if she knew that I was airing info every night and my father would not be surprised since he’s accused me of being uncomfortably public once or twice before). I’m an open-minded, Christian who was afraid to join a Christian homeschooling group for fear of having to deal with the narrow, overzealous, exclusionary views that have lately become associated with being Christian as if right-winged conservative/Christian are synonymous. I’m a lover of all types of music (hearing Mozart/Anita Baker/Common in my head is pretty normal), yet frustrated with hip-hop and r&b in most cases. I’m constantly downsizing/giving away clothes and toys (which we have more than some small developing country), yet I’m a sucker for the bargain section at any bookstore. Chocolate is my kryptonite, but I don’t eat red meat, processed foods and prefer to have cereal with sugar (my kids think I’m the worst mother ever. smile).

In order to address the matters of who am what I am, I am going to begin a 35 day series which will end on my 35th b-day, April 28th. Why is 35 such a big deal? We’ll soon find out. Talk to you soon.

  1. [...] Well, I’m counting down the days. 4 more days until I return to Baltimore and I have to say I am so ready. You all know that even my own family is challenged by my ‘Yes’ to life state of being. It’s hard sometimes when you want a lot for everybody and not everybody wants more than what they already have for themselves. Now, here’s the challenge of the day (do I always have a challenge for you guys?): How does a ‘Yes’ to Life-er co-exist with people who just like life..uh…light, easy, tepid and not spicy hot? Hmm…you want to know…you learn to Let it go and say NO. [...]
