Greece is tomorrow!

I got no sleep last night waking up every 30 minutes writing in my journal next to my bed. Pick up digital camera for kids to take on trip. Make sure to pack feminine products for daughter. Have my son try on those khaki shorts and make sure they’re not falling off of his behind. So much to think about 4 a.m.

I can’t begin to tell you how many times I tossed and turned last night. At one point, I tried to just get up and release everything that is on my mind. I have so many responsibilities that are rapidly approaching. The weekly column at parenting.com starts this upcoming Wednesday. We’re leaving Michigan next week and need to make the rounds to see all of the family before we go. Our homeschool group is having its first Annual Picnic and I’m trying to call everyone in the group for volunteers. I also have assumed the role of President and the former President is forwarding me new information daily. I have to prepare for classes not just for my 4 children but for 3 co-op classes that are taking place in our co-op. Sidenote: the 4 year old started crying yesterday because she “isn’t smart like him [her 6 year old brother].” What kind of mother am I that my 4 year old, whos’ been 4 for less than 30 days, can’t read? Someone should call Protective Services. Geesh. I’m getting pressure from every end.

My only piece of sanity in the day is when I’m blogging and every second that I’m sitting here, I feel guilty because I have so much other stuff to do.

I’ll be so glad when this part of the summer is over and I can be back to my old routine. I used to believe that no routine was best, but I think 5 kids, homeschooling, writing a book/a daily blog/a weekly column would force anyone to change their views on structure. I’ll let you all know how I handled the kids getting on the plane. The plane leaves in the afternoon so I will probably check in with you all late with tears in my eyes. Check in with you all then.

Have a great trip and if at all possible, try to relax. :-)

Amy, thanks so much. Even though I’m not going, I know I need to relax. I have one more week on vacation, so I’m going to try to enjoy 3 kids for a short while.
