As you all know, tonight is THE Night for Chocolate Chats, an interactive internet talk show hosted by me through TalkShoe.com.

Follow these steps and you will be able to join us tonight at 9 p.m. EST./6 p.m. PST. First, you have to create a talkshoe account. Click here and follow the steps below:

1. Complete form with your first and last name, email address and password. Keep a good record of your password as you will need it every time you go to Talkshoe to participate in the show.

2. After your user id is created, you are sent to a page that outlines 3 important steps.

a) Create PIN (You must use YOUR pin when calling into the show. The default is your phone number, but you can use your cell or whatever, but you have to remember it when you dial in, so write it down if you use something different.) KEEP THIS NUMBER!

b) Download Talkshoe Live. THIS IS KEY! If you want to chat with the host (me), the guests or the other listeners via your computer, you need to download Talkshoe Live. It is a great feature and it really adds to the interaction. They have version for both the PC and the Mac. Click on the download button and follow instructions.

c) You’re Done is the last step. Once you click here, you are fully able to participate at three different levels in the show. See below for more.

Now that you have a TalkShoe account, you sign in right before the show begins at talkshoe.com. Once you’ve signed in, you will see the show listed under the live now tab (upper left) within 15 minutes of the beginning of the show.

DIALING IN INSTRUCTIONS

• Click on the Chocolate Chats title and you will be asked if you want to start the TalkShoe Live application (which is the chatting software), you click Launch Application.
• Once the application is launched, you have to call in from your home phone or cell phone. The dial-in number is (724) 444-7444.
  
• Then you will be promoted for the Talkcast ID, which is 30806.
  
• After that you will be asked for your pin number, which is the number you used to set up your account…remember?

Once you’ve dialed in, the application will launch and you will find an interface, similar to popular IM clients where you can chat, you can just listen or you can comment via the phone.

A couple of quick questions you may have:

I don’t want to talk. I just want to listen. Do I have to go through all of this?

No, you don’t. You do have to setup an account, but then you can follow the dialing in instructions above and just listen. But you know the topics are going to be hot and I would love to hear from you, so consider chiming in at least toward the end for the q & a.

What if my kids are in the background, are they going to interrupt the show?

No, when you join the show. You are muted and you can stay muted if you want, but if you want to say something, you can click on the request to talk button so that I can know you want to talk.
