About

“I can’t believe you said that, did that. I was thinking it.”

After a couple of laughs about life, love and the pursuit of what you think will make you happy, people always turn to me, sometimes crying while laughing and say, “You are just da gurl.”

I want people to know that they have the power to make change in their lives and in the lives of others using their talents, not mine. I take leadership, influence seriously. I have to because I’ve had to deal with people listening to me, laughing with me, criticizing my views since as far back as I remember.

From the now-desolate and empty Lee Place street of Detroit, Michigan to the not that much different streets of Baltimore, Maryland, with stops in northwest Detroit suburbs, in the great college town of Ann Arbor and the painfully, eye-opening, close-minded big town of St. Louis, I’ve managed to experience or to have empathy for every human emotion imaginable. I pride myself at being critical, analytical, but not judgemental. I don’t expect people to be like me. Actually, I expect people to not be like me. I’m pretty unique with my ability to interact in various social climates without ever giving away my Master’s level education card. Unless I need to pull it out for…points of reference.

I love life. I have a desire to know God at the most intimate level. I’m a loyal friend to Him and truly grateful for all He’s done. I’m a walking masterpiece in progress anxiously awaiting the next additions of grace and wisdom. Outspoken, yet a good listener. What you see is what you get. Thanks for coming by and I hope to see you often.

Ooops, the stats. I’m Shawn Mason Spence and I have 5 kids, a great husband, wonderful parents and in-laws…blah, blah, blah…Just read. You’ll get the stats as you go along.
